CBI Golf Challenge a Big Hit With Players

Tina Tesfaye and Rabih Sfela teamed up effectively to win the Commercial Bank International (CBI) Golf Corporate Challenge in style at the Emirates Golf Club

Tina Tesfaye and Rabih Sfela teamed up effectively to win the Commercial Bank International (CBI) Golf Corporate Challenge in style at the Emirates Golf Club.

The duo carded a fantastic score 51 stableford points to beat their nearest challengers Ornella Parigi and Borgobello Ellida by a good four points. The team of Steve Willams and Martin Lamber 47 finished third on a countback with Suresh Shewakramani and Nishit Patel settling for the fourth place on 44 points.

The third and final event of the CBI challenge series attracted a strong field of over 80 players, representing leading corporate houses. They followed the two-ball betterball stableford format over the Majlis course, the venue of the forthcoming Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Reed Global won the overall team prizes with 96 points, beating the Servitalia team on a countback. Sharda Trading Est finished third five points off the pace. Attractive prizes, including TayloreMade clubs, hospitality tickets for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and gift vouchers were presented to the winners.

Wayne Andres, head of treasury, CBI, presented the prizes and thanked the players and the sponsors Jumeirah Group, duplays, Sport 360, Aetna and Taylormade for making the event a great success.

Team prizes: Tina Tesfaye and Rabih Sfela 51 points, 2. Ornella Parigi and Borgobello Ellida 47 points (countback), 3. Steve Willams and Martin Lamber 47 points, 4. Suresh Shewakramani and Nishit Patel 44 points.

Overall team prizes: 1. Reed Global 96 points (countback), Servitalia 96, 3. Sharda Trading Est 91 points.

Nearest to pin prizes: Lee Jacko (hole 4), Lee Sharpe (hole 7), Hassan (hole 11) and Mats Engman (hole 15)

Longest drive prizes: Ed Rice (hole 3), Ed Rice (hole 12).
