To cope with the growing reliance on computers and technology today, CBI has pledged to support the initiative’s organizer, Information City, in equipping children between the ages of 7 and 12 with the computer skills necessary to succeed in today’s advancing workforce.
H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum said that "Educate a Child’s goal is not only helping children become computer literate but to help them continue learning and developing so they can grow up to become contributing members of society and help build an even greater UAE. We would like to thank CBI for their dedication and generous contribution to such a valuable cause."
Kris Babicci, CBI’s Chief Executive Officer, commented on CBI’s interest in the development of such projects, recognizing the potential for Educate a Child: “When a child’s education is supplemented with all the resources a computer can offer, they gain access to a world of possibilities. Computer literacy is instrumental in helping young people become more engaged in their community and it is vital to their future success in a competitive business environment. We are dedicated to empowering these young people and to making a real change.”

The donation made by CBI provided customized training and facilities for 25 children giving them access to specialized computer equipment.
CBI’s contribution to this cause is a further example of its sustained commitment to supporting local initiatives. The Bank also made a financial donation to Sharjah University supporting the research of cancer and Alzheimer’s disease in the UAE. CBI’s Senior Management and Board of Directors are keen to facilitate such projects which are so fundamental to evolution of both young people and our future economy and environment.
