Commercial Bank International (CBI) has been recognised at the 2013 Banker Middle East Industry Awards held at Emirates Towers in Dubai. CBI collected awards for The Fastest Growing Bank in the United Arab Emirates and The Most Improved Bank in the MENA region.
Regarded as the industry standard for banking excellence, Banker Middle East’s panel of judges evaluated banks in the UAE and MENA region based on financial results, balance sheet growth and performance indicators. CBI has shown strong growth throughout 2012 and 2013.
In March 2013 CBI rebranded, a key indicator of the Bank’s commitment to growing stronger every day. CBI has grown its branch network in the UAE, opening an additional four branches in the first quarter of 2013. These branches reflect the new brand and a personalised banking experience. CBI continues to offer a top quality service, advanced and secure technology and an expanded product range as well as an increased international reach through the association with QNB Group.
CBI’s robust financial results have proven strong over the past 12 months. Strong capital adequacy, high liquidity and low advances to deposits ratios had enabled organic growth.
Both awards were received by Abdulla Rashed Omran, Managing Director and Kris Babicci, Chief Executive Officer during the 2013 Banker Middle East Award ceremony. Commenting on the awards, Kris Babicci said, “CBI has demonstrated positive growth over the past year and it is with great pride that we accept both of these prestigious awards from Banker Middle East. We will continue to stay at the forefront of personalised banking, increasing our strength and commitment to offering tailor-made banking solutions through high value products and services’.
CBI has also been recognised by the 2013 Banker Middle East Product Awards for having the ‘Best Savings Product’ for its Mabrook Savings Account, a continued recognition of development after being awarded the 2012 award for ‘Best Personal Loan’.
