25 Emiratis celebrate at National Development Programme Graduation
In an effort to support and fulfill the vision of the UAE Leadership to raise the level of Emiratization in private sector, Commercial Bank International (CBI) has celebrated the 2013 National Development Programme (NDP) graduation of 25 Emirati employees. Attended by the Bank’s senior management, the graduation celebrated the hard work and accomplishments of talented UAE nationals. A total of 122 local talents have graduated since its inception in 2007.
NDP is a programme designed to transfer banking knowledge to the young generation of UAE local graduates to ensure a better future for their careers in the advanced banking industry in the UAE. NDP is considered as one of the most successful progarmmes in the industry to train the local workforce. CBI’s investment in NDP reflects its commitment to localization as one of its main strategic objectives.
Through its first phase, trainees spent time at the CBI Training Centre gaining a foundation of theoretical knowledge, upon which the second phase of ‘on-the-job’ training was based. Phase two of the programme enabled trainees to gain a working knowledge of the banking sector through practical training and exposure to day to day banking practice. Trainees also contributed towards the recent rebranding of CBI, gaining firsthand experience and learning about all aspects of the project on an internal and external level.
Speaking on the occasion, CBI’s Chairman, Mohammad Sultan Al Qadi, said: “CBI’s senior management dedicates continued efforts and resources to provide local talent with career opportunities. As the next generation of banking leaders, these high achieving graduates represent our ongoing efforts to facilitate the integration and development of Emiratis in the banking sector. I am positive that this batch of local banking talent will be able to lead the future. We are committed to enhancing their skills through continued training and development”.
Abdulla Rashed Abdulla Omran, Managing Director of CBI, continued, “CBI has achieved great success and growth especially with recruiting, training, developing and retaining the best UAE national talent, as part of the country’s overall strategy.”
Kris Babicci, Chief Executive Officer of CBI commented, “It is great to work with such a talented group of young Emiratis. While we continue to take great pride in our efforts; today marks our continued commitment to further enhance the experiences and opportunities available to UAE Nationals within the banking industry across the UAE. We wish them the very best of success and I am sure they will be great assets in the UAE financial sector.”
NDP graduate, Latifa Salem Mubarak thanks her mentors, “I would like to thank our Management for their upmost support and advice in welcoming us into the CBI family. Graduating from this programme does not mean that our quest for knowledge has ended; on the contrary, it has just begun. With continued training and development opportunities, CBI is a great place to work.”
In May 2013, CBI was awarded “Employer of the Year” by the Higher Colleges of Technology as it continues to offer numerous training and development opportunities focused on equipping the local workforce with the knowledge required for professional growth.
