In line with its ongoing support and commitment towards Emiratization in the banking sector, Commercial Bank International (CBI) participated in Careers UAE 2014, Dubai’s national career exhibition, held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, from 22nd to 24th April at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
CBI has been an active participant at the various career fairs held across different Emirates, using these exhibitions as an opportunity to attract candidates and graduates from leading universities in the UAE who are looking for a challenging and stimulating career in the banking sector.
The Bank achieved an Emiratization level of 35% by the end of 2013, with an aim to increase the ratio to 40% by end 2014.
Kris Babicci, CBI’s Chief Executive Officer, commented: “CBI has taken major steps to enhance its Emiratization scheme in line with national development objectives defined by the vision of the UAE Leadership. Emiratization is a key priority for us as we continue to attract, train, and mentor UAE national talents to join our ranks. With the right people on board, along with the right training and support, we aim to be a leading bank in the development and empowerment of national human resources and to be recognized as the employer of choice for Emiratis.”
CBI’s Emiratization efforts remain focused on recruiting young Emiratis based on their skills and suitability for the job. “Our strategy revolves around attracting and developing promising local candidates with the objective to create a talent pool of UAE Nationals capable of leading the Bank in the future,” stated Zainab Noureldini, CBI’s Head of Human Resources. “In addition to our participation at various career fairs across the UAE that have provided us with a wonderful opportunity to highlight the excellent career prospects available at CBI, we have devised a number of specific undergraduate and graduate training programs for UAE Nationals with various education levels. In addition, CBI has partnered with various organizations, such as TANMIA, as part of its drive to recruit qualified UAE Nationals,” she added.
The Bank has developed diverse initiatives to support the recruitment and development of UAE nationals through specially tailored programs such as CBI’s National Development program ‘AJYAL’, CBI’s Students Sponsorship Scheme ‘Mustaqbal’.
CBI conducted onsite interviews to candidates during the event with representatives from different departments to offer insight to all potential candidates on career opportunities and growth prospects with the bank.
