Commercial Bank International (CBI) today announced the appointment of Murray Macdougall as Head of Sales & Distribution for Retail Banking. He will be responsible for the strategic management, growth, and performance of CBI’s Branch Network and Direct Sales teams. His key focus will be on customer service and driving sales.
David Power, CBI’s Head of Retail Banking, commented on the appointment: “We are pleased to welcome Murray to the CBI Retail team of professional bankers. His appointment comes at an important time for us and is part of our commitment to grow our retail portfolio and franchise even further.”
Murray is a senior retail banking executive with extensive experience working for a number of global banks in Australia and Asia.
Murray Macdougall commented on his appointment: “I am excited to be part of the CBI Retail team and look forward to leading the sales teams to greater heights and exceeding our retail customers' evolving needs with high quality and innovative products."
CBI was recently acknowledged as the most transparent retail bank in MENA when it received the inaugural ‘Transparency in Retail Banking’ Award at the much coveted 2014 Banker Middle East Industry Awards ceremony. The Bank has also been acknowledged over the past 2 years by winning a number of other awards including ‘Most Improved Bank in the MENA Region’, ‘Best Bank in the UAE’, and other retail titles including ‘Best Personal Loan’, ‘Best Saving Account, and ‘Best Credit Card’ by the Banker Middle East.
With an expanding branch network across the UAE, an enhanced retail product suite and a renewed customer-centric approach, CBI is determined to develop further its retail business and remains well positioned for future growth.
In 2012, Qatar National Bank (QNB), the leading financial institution and largest bank in the MENA region completed the acquisition of 40% of CBI shares. CBI’s new brand launched in March last year reflects this partnership.
