CBI wins Human Resources Development Award

Commercial Bank International (CBI) announced today that it has been awarded the prestigious Human Resources Development Award in the Banking and Financial Sector from the Emirates Institute of Banking and Finance. The award was announced at the National Career Exhibition in Sharjah, under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The award highlights CBI’s outstanding human resource policies and development initiatives and its long-standing commitment to Emiratization, which saw the number of UAE nationals in the bank increase to 40% in 2014.

Ms. Zainab Noureldini, Head of Human Resources in CBI said: “We are delighted that CBI has been awarded Human Resources Development Award in the Banking and Financial Sector. Human Resource Development and Emiratization are top priorities at CBI and we are honored to be recognized for our excellence in developing young talent in the UAE. At CBI, we are committed to providing employment opportunities and continued training and development to talented UAE Nationals in the Banking industry.”

CBI has several programmes in place to attract, develop and retain UAE National Talent, namely its National Development program ‘AJYAL’ and the Bank’s Students Sponsorship Program (Mustakbal).

“We have adopted an ambitious Emiratization plan that reinforces our ongoing efforts to encourage local young talent to join the Bank as we strive to develop a pipeline of qualified UAE Nationals capable to be leaders in the banking and finance industry. With the right people on board, along with the right training and support, we aim to be a leading bank in the development and empowerment of national human resources and to be recognized as the employer of choice for Emiratis.” Added CBI’s Head of Human Resources.

CBI’s participation at the Sharjah National Careers Exhibition is a key component of the bank’s long-term strategy to meet its ambitious Emiratization target. CBI will use the important Sharjah Career Fair platform to meet and interview UAE Nationals interested in a career in the Banking industry. CBI’s Human Resources team along with cross functional department managers will be available to answer questions on new careers, training, personal development, employment policies and growth prospects available at CBI.
